The Israeli engineer Simcha Blass developed one of the modern methods of irrigation that was developed by the Israeli engineer Simcha Blass. Simcha Blass was a Polish-Israeli engineer and creator who developed the modern drip irrigation system with his son Yeshayahu. The experimental system of micro irrigation was developed in the year 1959, which was then supported in 1964 by Kibbutz Hatzerim to establish the new irrigation company named Netafim. Cooperatively, they developed and patented surface drip irrigation. In the mid-20th century, Nebraska farmer Frank Zybach invented centre-pivot irrigation and transformed agricultural production worldwide. Drip irrigation refers to the method of crop irrigation that involves the controlled delivery of water to plants through a system of pipes, valves, tubing, and emitters. The water in drip irrigation is supplied through a source directly to the root zone of individual plants or to the surface of the soil. On the other hand the sprinkler system stands for a method of applying water in an administered manner that is similar to rainfall. A sprinkler system is also known as a device used to irrigate (water) agricultural crops, lawns, landscapes, golf courses, and other areas.
