Industrial robots are multi-joint manipulators or multi-degree-of-freedom machine devices widely used in industry with a certain degree of automaticity that can rely on their own power energy and control capabilities to achieve various industrial processing and manufacturing functions. Industrial robots can perform tasks such as welding, painting, assembling, collecting and placing, and product inspection and testing through different programmable actions, and are widely used in industries such as automotive, electronics, metal, plastics, food and biochemical. With the expansion of capital in China's emerging industries, the scale of industrial robot imports in China has also gradually increased.

In 2021, China's industrial robot imports reached 111,300 units, up 50.18% year-on-year, with an import value of US$1.458 billion, up 49.86% year-on-year. From January to October 2022, China imported 87,300 industrial robots, down 6.02% year-on-year, with an import value of US$1.091 billion, down 9.55% year-on-year.

In 2018-2022, the average price of China's industrial robot imports showed an overall change trend of first increase and then decrease. The publisher's analysis shows that in 2019, the average price of China's industrial robots imports was US$15,555 per unit, an increase of 6.03% year-on-year. From 2019 to October 2022, the average price of China's industrial robot imports decreased continuously. In 2021, the average price of China's industrial robot imports was US$13,105.88 per unit, down 0.22% y-o-y. From January to October 2022, the average price of China's industrial robot imports was US$12,500.87 per unit, down 3.76% y-o-y.

In 2021, China imported industrial robots from 26 countries and regions around the world. The publisher's analysis shows that Japan is China's largest source of industrial robots by import volume. In 2021, China imported 96,200 Japanese multifunctional industrial robots, accounting for 86.45% of total industrial robot imports in that year, with an import value of US$1.128 billion, accounting for 77.36% of total imports.

Methodology

Background research defines the range of products and industries, which proposes the key points of the research. Proper classification will help clients understand the industry and products in the report.

Secondhand material research is a necessary way to push the project into fast progress. The analyst always chooses the data source carefully. Most secondhand data they quote is sourced from an authority in a specific industry or public data source from governments, industrial associations, etc. For some new or niche fields, they also "double-check" data sources and logics before they show them to clients.

Primary research is the key to solve questions, which largely influence the research outputs. The analyst may use methods like mathematics, logical reasoning, scenario thinking, to confirm key data and make the data credible.

The data model is an important analysis method. Calculating through data models with different factors weights can guarantee the outputs objective.

The analyst optimizes the following methods and steps in executing research projects and also forms many special information gathering and processing methods.

1. Analyze the life cycle of the industry to understand the development phase and space.
2. Grasp the key indexes evaluating the market to position clients in the market and formulate development plans
3. Economic, political, social and cultural factors
4. Competitors like a mirror that reflects the overall market and also market differences.
5. Inside and outside the industry, upstream and downstream of the industry chain, show inner competitions
6. Proper estimation of the future is good guidance for strategic planning.
