The Polish construction industry is expected to expand in real terms by 2% in 2026, supported by investments in infrastructure projects funded by the European Union (EU) funds under Poland’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (KPO) along with a favorable interest rate. During the June 2026 Monetary Policy Council, Poland’s central bank maintained its interest rate unchanged at 3.75%, after lowering it by 25 basis points in March 2026 and 175 basis points in 2025. According to the Eurostat, the statistical office of the EU, gross fixed capital formation in the construction industry grew by 5.4% YoY in Q1 2026, and was preceded by a year on year (YoY) growth of 1.9% YoY in Q4. In March 2026, under the European Funds for Eastern Poland (EFEP) program, the European Commission (EC) approved PLN1.3 billion ($347.1 million), which will be allocated to infrastructure and housing projects.

Over the remainder of the forecast period, the Polish construction industry is expected to record an annual average growth rate of 3.8% from 2027 to 2030, supported by investments in renewable energy, and transport infrastructure projects. Under the National Road Construction Program, announced in August 2021 and ratified in December 2022, the government is targeting the construction of 2,500km of new roads, including motorways and expressways, by 2033, with a total investment of PLN290 billion ($77.4 billion). Key projects under this initiative include Via Carpatia, Via Baltica, and the construction of 100 ring roads, all of which are intended to enhance road safety and strengthen regional and national connectivity. Growth is also expected to be driven by the government’s objective of generating 51.8% of electricity from renewable sources by 2030 and nearly 79.8% by 2040, compared to 29% in 2024, as outlined in its National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP). Earlier, in March 2026, the government announced its intention to invest almost PLN1 trillion ($267 billion) in the energy sector by 2030. Major allocations under this plan include PLN234 billion ($62.5 billion) for transmission infrastructure, PLN220 billion ($58.7 billion) for renewable energy along with storage projects, and PLN160 billion ($42.7 billion) towards nuclear power.
