This product contains two individual regulatory reports:

Canada: heated tobacco regulation

The Tobacco and Vaping Products Act (TVPA) tackles product requirements, and advertising and retail restrictions for tobacco and vaping products. The law defines a tobacco product as a product made in whole or in part of tobacco, including a device that is necessary for its use. Based on this definition, the rules analysed here will be applicable to heated tobacco consumables and heated tobacco devices. This report provides a detailed overview of heated tobacco regulation in Canada, at a federal level, covering all policy areas.

Canada: oral tobacco and nicotine pouch regulation

The Tobacco and Vaping Products Act (TVPA) tackles product requirements, and advertising and retail restrictions for tobacco and vaping products. There is no special category for oral tobacco, instead all tobacco-containing products consumed orally are classified as tobacco products, which are defined as products made in whole or in part of tobacco. Nicotine pouches are regulated by the Food and Drugs Act (FDA). This report offers a summary of the current regulatory framework in place for oral tobacco and nicotine pouches in Canada, at a federal level.

These regulatory reports will provide you with:

  • A clear and detailed understanding of current regulatory requirements affecting this sector in a specific jurisdiction, enabling you to be confident your business and your products are compliant.
