The importance of safety at school is top of mind; recent incidents of bullying and harassment in schools further underscore the importance of municipal and school law practitioners being able to identify and understand key requirements and trends in this arena. The compounding impact of COVID-19 on students' mental health and behavior as they emerge from the pandemic and resume attending school in person adds yet another dimension.
This new program provides a current summation and analysis of the key legal principles of bullying under Massachusetts statutes and regulations. In addition, the faculty examine the legal elements of harassment on the federal and state level - and provide a comprehensive synopsis of school discipline requirements for both regular education students and students enrolled in special education.
The faculty consists of experienced attorneys who practice in private firms, non-profit organizations, and government agencies - each bringing you different perspectives on these critical issues.
