Humic Substances in Soil and Crop Sciences reviews some of the methodology to characterize humic substances in soil and summarizes information presented by experienced scientists on the effects of these materials on soils and on plant growth, as related to nitrogen fertility. The influence of sewage sludge on soil humic substances and interaction of pesticides with humic substances are also discussed.
