Atome is one of the most widely preferred buy now, pay later (BNPL) service providers in Southeast Asia. Launched in December 2019, Atome serves over 30 million users across 10 countries. Atome is part of fintech company Atome Financial, which is the subsidiary of Singapore-based Advance Intelligence Group.
Atome offers both online and in-store payment options to customers, enabling them to pay for their purchases in three or six equal installments. To entice customers, it offers its own loyalty program, Atome+, in which the customer earns one Atome+ point for every $2 spent. These reward points can be put towards the next purchase or used to redeem rewards during checkout.
In addition to its regular BNPL services, in August 2022, Atome launched its first Mastercard-branded credit card in the Philippines for regular card payments. However, card holders can also avail BNPL services on their card payments to split purchases into installments.
Atome is accepted by more than 15,000 merchants including both online and offline merchants. Most recently, in May 2023, it partnered with ecommerce giant Amazon, enabling customers in Singapore to make payments via Atome.
