According to Samsung, a 5G mmWave FWA option could offer cost savings of up to 65% in those areas that lack the underlying infrastructure required for operators to rent or share for FTTH. Growing Investments in the Mid-Frequency Band

The mid-frequency band includes 3.7 & 4.5 GHz frequencies. Mid-band (also known as C-Band) spectrum is an essential part of 5G application uses as it has citywide high-capacity coverage. It holds a significant data load. The high-frequency band carries more data, but the signal doesn’t travel as far as mid-band frequencies. Hence, it’s often used as a capacity booster.

  • In January 2023, AT&T announced the launch of the next rendition of a fixed wireless access (FWA) product in the market. The new FWA product will use the company’s mid-band spectrum.
