The global M&A market in Q3 2023 witnessed deals worth $473 billion, a decline of 17% compared to the $572 billion deal value in Q2 2023. In terms of deal volume, there was a 16% fall from 8,3294 deals in Q2 2023 to 7,083 M&A deals in Q3 2023. The technology, media & telecoms (TMT) led the M&A deal activity, with 2,049 deals worth $129 billion recorded in Q3 2023. Most sectors saw a year-on-year decline in deal activity in Q3 2023. This quarter recorded 98 mega deals (defined as any deal valued at more than $1 billion), a fall from 116 in Q2 2023.
