Understand when and how you are required to continue employee benefits while an employee is out on leave.

Leave laws in states continue to change rapidly as does case law interpreting the proper management of leaves of absence. One of the many challenges of managing leaves in the workplace is determining what happens to an employee’s work benefits during the leave. Many employers over the years have modified their leave programs to create more generous leaves than even the state and federal laws require. This presentation will help you identify and define various leaves of absence for employees and provide a guide for what benefits may be required by those leaves, as well as what litigation risks there may be to mismanaging such leaves.
