THE 60-MINUTE LAWYER

Domestic violence is one of the most difficult parts of representing clients in family law. Without awareness, you may not recognize the signs of domestic violence, or that your client is a victim themselves. Understanding the reasons why domestic violence occurs and why victims stay with their abusers makes you better equipped to handle domestic abuse claims.

This program builds the skills and capacity to provide comprehensive, trauma-informed representation for victims and survivors of intimate partner violence. The faculty discusses what domestic violence is, how it manifests, and what should be considered when representing a survivor. Join the experts as we look at these claims, how to be sensitive to the needs of your clients, and what to expect when in court. This program is a must-attend for family lawyers and lawyers new to survivor work and practicing family law!
