The addition of tariffs to the thematic screen of the IT infrastructure sector scorecard, with a weighting of 15%, has shaken up the thematic rankings. Cisco maintains its position at the top of the list, but Amazon, ranked second at the end of 2024, has dropped to 10th due to its score of 1 out of 5 for the tariffs theme. This score suggests the theme will be highly detrimental to its future performance.

Among the big climbers is IBM, which rose from eighth in the thematic rankings in December 2024 to its current position of fourth thanks to a neutral score of 3 out of 5 for the tariffs theme and scores of 5 out of 5 for cybersecurity, high-performance computing, and observability. The latter theme has a 15% weighting, the same as the tariffs and artificial intelligence (AI) themes.
