The rising usage of social media channels and growth of the e-commerce sector have led to increasing investments towards data centre establishment in the Philippines. For instance, in July 2021, Beeinfotech opened a 19,000 sqm data centre facility in Pasig City with 3,000 rack capacity. In December 2023, Digital Edge entered into a joint venture agreement with Threadborne Group for the development and operation of a 10-megawatt data centre facility. In Cebu's Mandaue City, Converge announced its plans to invest PhP 1 billion towards the construction of a new data centre. The current data centre capacity of the Philippines (at just 96MW presently) is expected to witness exponential growth, thereby fuelling the demand for effective data centre cooling solutions.

To achieve sustainable cooling of data centres, major companies like Meta are incorporating an architecture of cold plates into their existing data centres, which use micro-convective cooling technology to boost the facility's thermal efficiency. The placement of aluminium or cold copper plates against microprocessors is meant to minimise the overall energy consumption of pumps and improve flow dynamics, thereby presenting a comparatively green solution for achieving optimum cooling temperatures within data centres.

The integration of smart temperature monitoring sensors into each rack and server by data centre operators is expected to drive the demand for effective cooling solutions. Increasing focus on upgrading the existing infrastructure of data centres (including roofing and flooring designs) is also expected to facilitate the market growth in the forecast period.
