This has resulted in a substantial increase in hybrid rice yields, from 7MT to 15MT in recent years.

Farmers in the country have achieved a 41% increase in rice yields through the usage of hybrid rice seeds as compared to inbred conventional seeds. In 2022, the SSR for round scad declined to 80% in the Philippines. Nearly 50% of all those people facing severe/moderate food insecurity are present in the Philippines. Hybrid rice seeds have a significant potential to increase the food security of the country and boost its economic growth rate.
