Ali Hussain Associate Professor, Institute of Zoology, University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. Dr. Ali Hussain is working as an Associate Professor in the Institute of Zoology, University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. He is a leading Microbial Biotechnologist. Energy and environment are the key domains of his research. His current research interests include microbial conversion of agro-industrial wastes into bioenergy, and molecular ecology and biotechnology of the microbes responsible for the efficient bioremediation of various industrial effluents. Microbial groups of special interest to him are methanogens, microalgae, hydrogen-producing, and sulfate-reducing prokaryotes. He has more than 125 articles in different international journals, and 6 book chapters in edited books to his credit. He is also the Associate Editor of BMC Microbiology.
