Pediatric Pulmonology: A Global Handbook for Clinical Care Providers provides an in-depth exploration of pediatric respiratory diseases, offering a detailed examination of various conditions, diagnostic techniques, and treatment protocols. The book covers a wide range of topics, from the assessment of children with respiratory diseases to specific conditions such as asthma, cystic fibrosis, and bronchopulmonary dysplasia. Each chapter is contributed to by leading experts in the field, ensuring that the content is both authoritative and up-to-date. These crucial, practical skills are essential when a pediatric patient's first point-of-care is not a respiratory specialist.

This is especially true of medical treatment in resource-poor areas. The book includes "how to guides" on vital procedures such as spirometry, chest imaging, and the management of respiratory emergencies. It also addresses respiratory diseases in newborns, the impact of environmental factors on children's respiratory health, and the unique challenges faced by children with neurologic and neuromuscular diseases. This comprehensive approach ensures that non-specialists gain a holistic understanding of pediatric respiratory diseases and their management.
