The 2026 tournament is set to feature 48 nations and 13 kit manufacturers. The manufacturer variety is a new record, surpassing the 1998 and 2002 tournaments where 12 manufacturers provided kits. The “Big 3” sportswear brands (adidas, Nike and PUMA) will supply 77.08% of the competing teams this summer, the lowest percentage since the 2002 tournament in Japan and South Korea.
For the ninth time in the last 12 tournaments adidas will supply the most kits. 14 teams will wear the three stripes at this summer’s tournament, twice as many teams as 2022. Adidas will also supply the official match ball for the fifteenth tournament in a row. Nike will supply 12 teams. A reduction of one contract from 2022. Nike’s teams include two of the hosts, the US and Canada.
Five-time Champions Brazil will wear a Nike home kit, and for the first time, a Jordan branded away kit. PUMA has almost doubled their representation compared to four years ago when it outfitted six teams, supplying 11 this time round. Five brands are set to make their World Cup debuts, whilst Umbro return for the first time since 2018 and Reebok return for the first time since 1998.
