The trend towards smaller packaging within still bottled water will continue, with the volume share of demijohns (called “damacana”) 19-litre bottled water decreasing. The declining trend for the demijohn format of bottled water began in 2012 when the Turkish Government announced that some companies did not meet required health and hygiene standards with their 19-litre demijohns of still bottled water. These are sold through home delivery and plastic bottles are re-usable.
