C4ISR is a command, control, communication, computer intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance system. This segment includes technologies that enable situational awareness and information collaboration. Electronic warfare (EW) and information operations (IO) are included in the C4ISR segment.

Globally, the C4ISR market has been witnessing a relatively higher growth, which has been primarily attributed to digitization and cyber-attacks. Countries are aiming to build the strong cyber system to protect itself for any kind of cyber-attack. In future with the help of IOT everything will be connected and a weak cyber system will allow the terrorist and hackers to infiltrate the system. Accounting to the increasing cyber-attacks, government and private companies are investing heavily in the C4ISR system.

Market Dynamics:
The global C4ISR is driven by the factors such as national security, territorial integrity and sovereign state. National security is a concept that a government, along with its parliament(s), should protect the state and its citizens against all kind of "national" crises through a variety of power projections, such as political power, diplomacy, economic power, military might, and so on. Whereas Territorial integrity is the principle under international law that nation-states should not attempt to promote secessionist movements or to promote border changes in other nation-states. Conversely it states that imposition by force of a border change is an act of aggression.

One of the major challenge will be to prevent malware from installing any botnets or other zombie utilities on a computer system.

The C4ISR segment includes technologies that enable situational awareness and information collaboration. Electronic warfare (EW) and information operations (IO) are included in the C4ISR segment.

Insight 1: By 2020, Beidou 2 envisions a full-scale system of at least five geostationary and 30 non-geostationary satellites providing a global coverage in two modes: free "open" services available to commercial customers with 10-meter location- tracking accuracy, and restricted "authorized" services providing positioning, velocity and timing communications estimated at 10 centimeter accuracy for the Chinese government and military. Also designed with effective protection against electromagnetic interference and attack; enable China to enhance its global navigation, tracking, targeting capabilities, providing guidance for military vehicles, ballistic and cruise missiles, precision-guided munitions, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles.

Insight 2: China will continue to improve on the J-20 versions with further testings; however, the 5th generation fighters are commonly accepted to have a stealthy airframe, an active electronically scanned radar, networked sensors and supercruise engines (supercruise engines provide enough velocity by themselves to reach supersonic speeds, without using fuel thirsty afterburners).

Insight 3: Reusable, aircraft-like hypersonic cruise vehicle that can take-off and land at today's runways and reach anywhere in the world in 2 hours or less.

Insight 4: Biometric credentialing, such as vein recognition and ingestible security tokens, to replace passwords.

Research Methodology:

The quantitative and qualitative data collected for the C4ISR report is from a combination of secondary and primary sources. Research interviews were conducted with senior executives and/or mangers in the destroyer Industry. These Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) were then provided a questionnaire to gather quantitative and qualitative inputs on their operations, performance, strategies and views on the overall market, including key developments and technology trends. Data from interviews is consolidated, checked for consistency and accuracy, and the final market numbers are again validated by experts. The global market was split by product types and geography based on different factors like primary and secondary sources, understanding of the number of companies operating in each segment and also KOL insights.

To understand the trend in research and development of C4ISR segments, and their priorities, the publisher undertook exploratory patent analysis to lay an initial foundation for future research on development and use of C4ISR. The exploratory analysis focused on identifying development related to technology of ships based systems, with an emphasis on certain technology parameters which intended to understand the roles that various countries sees for naval systems. In addition analyzing trends in development of ships system and exploring how countries could deploy these systems; and identifying areas for further research and potential future developments. The publisher has analyzed patents in several different parameters in navy ships segment technologies. The patent analysis has also helped us to deduce and map the futuristic technologies in most efficient way. The technology roadmap is developed using bottom-up approach. The technology roadmap is categorized in three parts i.e. short term (less than 10 years), medium term (from 10 to 20 years) and long term from (more than 20 years).

Key Secondary resources include Department of Defense websites from various countries and private companies’ website covered in this report.
