Victrelis (boceprevir) is a medication used to treat chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. It is a protease inhibitor, which works by blocking the action of the HCV protease enzyme, thus preventing the virus from replicating. Victrelis is used in combination with other antiviral medications, such as peginterferon alfa and ribavirin, to treat HCV genotype 1 infection. It is not recommended for use in patients with genotype 4, 5, or 6 infections.
