Booking up: Revenue is on the mend as international borders reopen and demand returns
Industry participants have placed an increasing emphasis on online capabilities and platforms over the past five years to streamline services and ease wage cost pressures. The COVID-19 pandemic significantly disrupted the industry. Related declines in international arrivals to Australia and traffic through capital city airports have severely limited the industry's performance. In contrast, steady demand from businesses for fleet leasing and management services has supported the industry and limited declines in recent years. Overall, industry revenue is expected to fall at an annualised 5.6% over the five years through 2022-23, to total $2.8 billion.
Industry firms lease, hire or rent out passenger cars without drivers. Passenger cars include sedans, hatchbacks, station wagons, SUVs and minibuses. Novated leasing is not included in the industry.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
