About Electric Vehicle Power Inverter

A power inverter or inverter is an electric device that converts DC (direct current) to AC (alternating current). It is an assembly of power devices and passive components. The power devices, also called IGBT (insulated-gate bipolar transistor) stack, are built with IGBTs and passive components. IGBTs are made from Si (silicon) material components. The passive components include capacitors, resistors, PCBs, and cooling systems. The power devices/IGBT stack, together with power connectors and sensors, create the power inverter module.
