Out of fuel: Industry revenue is expected to fall in 2023-24 due to lower car usage caused by high fuel prices
The industry is highly concentrated, with two companies - AA Ltd and RAC Motoring Services - dominating the market. However, healthy demand has encouraged new roadside assistance operators to enter the industry through the end of 2023-24. Industry performance is contingent on the size and average age of the UK's car park, both of which have steadily risen, leading to an increase in the number of vehicles requiring roadside assistance services.
Roadside vehicle assistance services assist motorists in the case of a mechanical failure that leaves the operator stranded. Maintenance services that are booked in advance to take place in garages are not included in the industry.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
