On July 2, 2025, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) completed its $14 billion acquisition of Juniper Networks. This announcement came almost exactly 18 months after plans for the takeover were made public and followed a protracted approval process, including a US Department of Justice lawsuit challenging HPE’s purchase of Juniper that was settled in June 2025.
Before the deal’s completion, HPE and Juniper occupied fifth and sixth place, respectively, in the thematic screen of the analyst’s IT infrastructure sector scorecard. Writing in January 2024, The analyst principal analyst Steve Schuchart said that the takeover of Juniper would allow HPE to better address the changing needs of the enterprise networking market, improve its access to telecom markets, and strengthen its AI offering.
