Brintellix (vortioxetine) is a prescription medication used to treat major depressive disorder (MDD) in adults. It is a serotonin modulator and stimulator (SMS) that works by increasing the levels of serotonin in the brain. Brintellix is also used to treat anxiety and other mental health conditions. It is available in tablet form and is taken orally once daily.
Brintellix is a relatively new drug on the market, having been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2013. It is one of several drugs used to treat MDD, and is often prescribed in combination with other medications.
Brintellix is manufactured by Takeda Pharmaceuticals and is marketed by Lundbeck, a Danish pharmaceutical company. Other companies in the market include Pfizer, Eli Lilly, and GlaxoSmithKline. Show Less Read more
