The Electronic Stability Control (ESC) market is a subset of the brake systems and components industry. It is a technology designed to improve the safety of vehicles by detecting and reducing loss of traction. ESC systems use sensors to detect the direction of a vehicle’s intended path and compare it to the direction the vehicle is actually going. If the two directions differ, the ESC system will apply brakes to individual wheels to help the driver regain control. This technology is now standard in most vehicles, and is credited with reducing the number of fatal accidents.
ESC systems are also used in commercial vehicles, such as buses and trucks, to help drivers maintain control in hazardous conditions. The technology is also being used in autonomous vehicles to help them navigate safely.
Companies in the ESC market include Bosch, Continental, Delphi, Denso, and ZF. Show Less Read more
