Elitek is a brand of hematological drugs used to treat a variety of blood disorders, including anemia, thalassemia, and sickle cell disease. It is a recombinant form of the enzyme rasburicase, which helps to break down uric acid in the blood. Elitek is administered intravenously and is used to reduce the risk of tumor lysis syndrome, a potentially life-threatening complication of chemotherapy. It is also used to reduce the risk of hyperuricemia, a condition in which uric acid levels in the blood are too high.
Elitek is manufactured by Sanofi, a French pharmaceutical company, and is available in many countries around the world. Other companies that produce hematological drugs include Novartis, Pfizer, and Bristol-Myers Squibb. Show Less Read more
