Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is a minimally invasive procedure used to diagnose and treat conditions of the biliary and pancreatic ducts. It is often used to diagnose and treat gallstones, bile duct strictures, and pancreatic cancer. During the procedure, a thin, flexible tube with a camera and light is inserted through the mouth and into the small intestine. The camera is used to view the biliary and pancreatic ducts, and a stent may be placed to open a blocked duct.
Stents are used in ERCP to open blocked bile and pancreatic ducts. They are typically made of metal or plastic and are inserted into the ducts to keep them open. Stents can be used to treat bile duct strictures, pancreatic cancer, and gallstones. They can also be used to relieve pain and improve the flow of bile and pancreatic juices.
Companies in the ERCP stent market include Boston Scientific, Cook Medical, Medtronic, Olympus, and Terumo. These companies manufacture and distribute a variety of stents for use in ERCP procedures. Show Less Read more
