The Generation, Transmission and Distribution (GTD) market is an integral part of the electricity industry. It is responsible for the production, transmission and distribution of electricity to end-users. Generation is the process of producing electricity from sources such as coal, natural gas, nuclear, hydro, wind and solar. Transmission is the process of transporting electricity from the generation source to the distribution network. Distribution is the process of delivering electricity to end-users.
