Iron Dextran is a hematological drug used to treat iron deficiency anemia. It is a complex of iron and dextran, a polysaccharide, and is administered intravenously. Iron Dextran is used to replenish iron stores in the body, which are necessary for the production of hemoglobin, the oxygen-carrying component of red blood cells.
