Phthalic Anhydride (PA) is a petrochemical used in the production of a variety of products, including plasticizers, alkyd resins, and polyester resins. It is a white, crystalline solid with a pungent odor. PA is produced by the catalytic oxidation of o-xylene or naphthalene. It is used in the manufacture of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyurethane, and polyester resins. It is also used as a plasticizer in the production of paints, coatings, and adhesives. PA is also used in the production of pharmaceuticals, dyes, and fragrances.
The PA market is highly competitive, with a number of large players operating in the space. Some of the major players in the market include BASF, Eastman Chemical Company, ExxonMobil, INEOS, and Shell. Show Less Read more
