Slag cement, also known as ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBFS), is a by-product of the steel industry. It is a hydraulic cementitious material that, when combined with Portland cement and water, produces a concrete with improved strength, durability, and workability. Slag cement is used in a variety of applications, including concrete pavements, bridges, dams, and buildings. It is also used in the production of precast concrete products, such as blocks, pipes, and tiles.
