A Vacuum Interrupter (VI) is a device used in electrical engineering to interrupt an electrical circuit. It is composed of two electrodes, a vacuum chamber, and a contact mechanism. The vacuum chamber is filled with a gas, usually sulfur hexafluoride, which is then evacuated to create a vacuum. When the contact mechanism is activated, the electrodes are separated, creating an arc which is extinguished by the vacuum. This interruption of the circuit prevents the flow of electricity.
Vacuum Interrupters are used in a variety of applications, such as circuit breakers, switchgear, and motor control centers. They are also used in high-voltage power transmission and distribution systems, as well as in industrial and commercial applications.
The Vacuum Interrupter market is highly competitive, with a number of companies offering a wide range of products. Some of the major players in the market include ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Eaton, and Mitsubishi Electric. Show Less Read more
