Yttria Stabilized Zirconia (YSZ) is a ceramic material composed of zirconium dioxide and yttrium oxide. It is a highly durable material with a wide range of applications, including wear-resistant coatings, fuel cells, and medical implants. YSZ is also used in the production of high-performance ceramics, such as armor, cutting tools, and abrasives. Its high thermal and electrical conductivity, as well as its low thermal expansion, make it an ideal material for many industrial applications.
YSZ is produced by sintering zirconia powder with yttrium oxide. This process results in a material with a high degree of crystallinity and a low porosity. The material is also highly resistant to corrosion and oxidation, making it suitable for use in harsh environments.
YSZ is widely used in the ceramics industry, particularly in the production of high-performance components. It is also used in the production of catalysts, fuel cells, and medical implants.
Companies in the YSZ market include Saint-Gobain, CeramTec, CoorsTek, and Kyocera. Show Less Read more
