Founded in 1978 Biogen Inc is a global biotechnology company with its headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In 2003 Biogen merged with Idec Pharmaceuticals to create Biogen Idec and acquired Syntonix Pharmaceuticals in 2007. In 2015 the company returned to its original name Biogen Inc and acquired Convergence Pharmaceuticals.
