Fast Attack Craft (FAC) are small, fast, and agile naval vessels designed for offensive operations. They are typically armed with torpedoes, missiles, and guns, and are used to patrol and protect territorial waters, as well as to conduct anti-submarine warfare and anti-surface warfare. FACs are typically smaller than other naval vessels, allowing them to be more maneuverable and to operate in shallow waters. They are also designed to be more cost-effective than larger vessels, making them attractive to navies with limited budgets.
FACs are used by navies around the world, and their use has grown in recent years as navies seek to protect their territorial waters and to counter threats from submarines and other vessels. They are also used for search and rescue operations, as well as for humanitarian and disaster relief.
Some companies in the FAC market include Damen Shipyards Group, Fincantieri, Austal, and BAE Systems. Show Less Read more
