The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) is a federal law that provides certain employees with up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave per year for certain family and medical reasons. It also requires employers to maintain health insurance coverage for employees on leave. The FMLA applies to employers with 50 or more employees, and to employees who have worked for the employer for at least 12 months and have worked at least 1,250 hours in the 12 months prior to the start of leave. The FMLA market is a subset of the Personnel and Human Resources industry, and is focused on providing employers with the resources and tools they need to comply with the FMLA. This includes software, consulting services, and training programs. Companies in this market provide employers with the ability to track employee leave, manage employee absences, and ensure compliance with the FMLA. Some companies in the FMLA market include LeaveLogic, LeaveSource, and LeaveXpert. Show Less Read more
